TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX

Beloved Oscar-nominated actress Cicely Tyson will be honored with a hand and footprint ceremony at the world-famous TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX forecourt.

Renowned filmmaker Tyler Perry will be a special guest speaker at this event.

6:30 pm - 8:00 pm – Roaring Twenties Party

Poolside at The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel

Calling all flappers and dapper fellas! Get ready to party like it’s the 1920s before our poolside screening of The Roaring Twenties on Friday, April 27 at 6:30pm (screening starts at 8pm). Passholders are encouraged to dress-up in their favorite 1920s-style attire, while we serenade them with a jazz playlist sure to get them ready to watch the film. So, get ready to don your finest rags, grab some giggle water and dance along to some of the Jazz Age’s finest as the sun sets and your screening begins. No extra dough or password is needed to get into this joint, just your festival pass. We can’t wait to see your outfit, we’re sure it’ll be the bee’s knees!

(note: dressing up is not necessary to attend the screening but is encouraged)

The American Society of Cinematographers Clubhouse

Passholder exclusive event! Join us for a rare opportunity to visit the American Society of Cinematographers’ Clubhouse to hear a panel of ASC members talk about the process of translating a written screenplay into the images we see on the screen. Seating is limited and attendees are encouraged to arrive early to get a chance to explore the Clubhouse and its collection of notable and historic cameras on display. All levels of passholders will be admitted. Moderated by Taylor Hackford, Director. Panel includes Steve Burum, Cinematographer, John Toll, Cinematographer, Amy Vincent, Cinematographer, Caleb Deschanel, Cinematographer, and Robert Richardson, Cinematographer.

Are you just in heaven when Astaire and Rogers dance cheek to cheek? When Gene Kelly sings and dances in the rain, are you always happy again?” Then this meet-up is for you! Join Professors Richard Edwards and Vanessa Ament of Ball State University, as they lead this informal discussion and sing-along featuring some of the most popular songs from Hollywood musicals. You won’t want to miss this!

Bonhams auction house shares select items that will be featured in upcoming auctions, including rare classic film collectibles and costumes. Bonhams and their roster of experts will also provide Festival attendees free appraisals of their classic movie items from 10:00am-12:00pm on Sunday, April 29 in the lobby of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.
